Kenzo 12_NOV_10
The V&A celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Kenzo yesterday with a special 'Fashion in Motion' event showcasing the Spring Summer 2011 collection. In the stunning setting of the Raphael Gallery, the show was a zesty fusion of travel in colour, print, and movement harking back to the Japanese heritage of the house and creative director Antonio Marras' Sardinian roots. Delicate florals and blocky geometrics, light-weight fabrics structured to mould around the legs in a conflict between movement of the body and movement of the garment, and infusions of a yellow accent in an already colourful pallete of soft pinks, navy blues, mint greens, and neutral beiges made for a whirlwind journey into the Kenzo world. Accessories included dramatic headpieces, sophisticated yet fruity lunchboxes, and elegant is-it-skin-is-it-fabric? gloves extending up the arm and questioning perception. With quirk, sophistication and heritage married as one this show was a twenty first century delight. For more images go to Click : http://bucks.digication.com/louiseburton/Photography
