CocoKnots

Opening doors and new horizons. A digital revolution and the pack on my back. Journeying through the wilds of handcraft from desert to jungle and out to sea under a coconut palm, and into the Urban Landscape of Passionate people. Creativity is a secret to share, the magic is lost in association. Anonyminity is the new signature.

Lunchboxes & Gloves

Kenzo 12_NOV_10
The V&A celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Kenzo yesterday with a special 'Fashion in Motion' event showcasing the Spring Summer 2011 collection. In the stunning setting of the Raphael Gallery, the show was a zesty fusion of travel in colour, print, and movement harking back to the Japanese heritage of the house and creative director Antonio Marras' Sardinian roots. Delicate florals and blocky geometrics, light-weight fabrics structured to mould around the legs in a conflict between movement of the body and movement of the garment, and infusions of a yellow accent in an already colourful pallete of soft pinks, navy blues, mint greens, and neutral beiges made for a whirlwind journey into the Kenzo world. Accessories included dramatic headpieces, sophisticated yet fruity lunchboxes, and elegant is-it-skin-is-it-fabric? gloves extending up the arm and questioning perception. With quirk, sophistication and heritage married as one this show was a twenty first century delight.

Bienvenido a Miami

I like to ride my bicycle... So I go to Miami, I ride my bicycle and wind up in the Art Centre of Southern Florida. Here, in a back corner of a back room of this forwards place, I discover a truly beautiful talent. Matu. CSM Graduate, ex - merchandiser and now full time artist in resident with the ArtCentre program making epic and inspiring work. He explores his idea of what the future holds through creative expression. It is coloured pencils on paper and an extensive range of marker pens. In the colourful piece we see Matu's intergallactical view of the future which suggests a positive change in the energies of the earth, not the doom and gloom commonly associated with the idea of the worlds end. Black and white studies explore forces in nature and the idea of where life began peraps signifying Matu's configurations for his interpretations of things to come... True Visionary and inspirational use of colour. Thank you Matu.

Neo Apocolyptic. It is the new apocolyptic. Todos positivo.
